We have a number of
businesses ask about how to send e-mail to many people at once. While
we encourage the sending of solicited email (e-mail that people are
expecting), we have in place the proper means to do this on a large
scale. It is called a List Server
In it's simplest form, you paste all the email addresses you wish to
send to, into a text file and send this file a special email address we
allocate to you. Then to send an email to these list of addresses,
simply compose a
single email and send it to a second email address we have allocated to
you. This method of sending bulk solicited email has many benefits. It
guarantees your list of addresses is never revealed to the recipients.
Your list of addresses can never be sent viruses including those nasty
address book viruses. Most importantly, it ensures you are complying
with Australia's strict anti-spam legislation, GoCentral's AUP and that
you are not degrading services for other users. If not using
GoCentral's List Server services, the maximum number of addresses you
can send solicited emails to is approximately 20 recipients. This
number is unlimited when using the List Server
Of course, the List Server has many
more features than this including giving your users the ability to
interact and discuss topics (a Discussion List) in a moderated or
unmoderated way. Other possible List Server functions give users the
ability to subscribe and unsubscribe themselves from your list. Contact
